André Klauser and Ed Carpenter first met whilst studying on the Design Products course at the Royal College of Art in 2000. They formed the design studio Klauser & Carpenter on the back of some successful collaborations and went on to built an impressive list of clients such as Meta, Established & Sons and Brooks England. In 2009 they started the design and production company Very Good & Proper. The Canteen Leg was part of their launch collection. Today VG&P is the focus of their work.
