E2 Table in use
The E2’s versatile table base design means that an E2 table works just as well as a desk, work table, dining table or do-all surface. It manages to be so hardworking and multifunctional whilst maintaining a sophisticated appearance. The E2 is lightweight, meaning it can easily be shipped, stored or moved.
E2 Table variants
E2 is available in two variants. The E2 Centered features a centrally positioned crossbar and is therefore ideal for meeting and dining tables. The E2 Shifted has a support that is positioned off center and allows for more leg space on one side, making this the ideal choice for desks. Faust offers the E2 table base in a number of finishes and colours.
E2 Table inspirations
Double sided linoleum table top
If you intend to refresh the appearance of the E2 table or create a different colour scheme in a room, a table top with two different linoleum surfaces offers variety. The table top rests loosely on the frame and can be flipped as often as you like, allowing for varied colour effects. We highly recommend adding the E2 Table Top Holders to protect and support the linoleum surface. They increase the contact area between the table top and frame, preventing marks on the underside. For permanently fixed table tops, a single-sided linoleum finish is sufficient.
E2 Table accessories
The E2 Table has a catalogue of additional accessories and spare parts. These can supplement the table to add additional functionality and extend the longevity of the table. Find the complete collection of accessories here.
E2 Table history
The original Egon Eiermann E2 Table design dating back 1953 consisted of a desktop and a steel frame with sides and cross welded in one piece. A faithful companion that can fit into almost any space and still feel spacious, even in small rooms.
Over the years, the design went through countless individual adaptations by countless users that helped cement the desk’s reputation as a practical, personalisable, and enduring piece of design. A significant milestone came in 1964 when Adam Wieland further developed the frame into a mobile version: four parts that could be screwed together, with vertically placed (rather than diagonal) cross struts.
Characterised by a minimal frame composed of slender steel tubes, the E2 remains as functional and versatile today as when it was first created. It continues to be an especially elegant and adaptable table, blending easily with a variety of interior aesthetics and working equally well as a desk or dining table. Simplicity and refinement lie at the heart of its enduring design.
E2 Kids Table
The E2 Kids table is a smaller version of the original E2 design and is intended to grow alongside the child. The addition of the long height adjusters allows the table to be used from childhood through to teenage years. Choose your E2 Kids Table Frame and configure a Faust linoleum table top, both sold individually.
