General recommendations for the cleaning and care of furniture linoleum

Cleaning and care

Removal of loose dust and dirt:
Loose dirt can be removed using dust-binding wipes.

Removal of adhering dirt:
To remove adhering dirt, dissolve a suitable detergent (e.g. dishwashing detergent), according to manufacturer information, in water. Soak a soft cloth with the rinsing solution and wring it out. Then, wipe the linoleum surface clean.

Removal of persistent dirt and stains:
To remove persistent dirt and stains, pour an undiluted rinsing solution (e.g. Harell Cleaning Concentrate) on a soft cloth and clean the stain, using a white cleaning pad (with care!) if necessary. Use a clean cloth to absorb the loose dirt. Finally, wipe the area with a damp cloth.

We strongly advise against the use of the care set since its oily substance causes shiny spots on the linoleum surface.

Special instructions

A yellowish tint can develop on linoleum during the post-oxidation phase. This is especially noticeable with light colours. However, the tint disappears entirely with exposure to UV light and the linoleum retains its original colour. The yellowish tint can redevelop, for example, if the surface is covered for a longer period of time with monitors, mouse pads, etc. It disappears again, as previously explained, when the surface is exposed to daylight. The drying room film cannot be removed by cleaning.

• Flowerpots and buckets made of terracotta, clay or metal (rust) can leave discolouration behind on linoleum. Please use suitable saucers.

• Disinfectants for skin and/or appliances can cause discolouration due to their high cleaning agent concentration. If you wish to disinfect the linoleum surface, please use only surface disinfectants suitable for linoleum and test these before use on a sample item or hidden area.

Please do not use cleaning solutions that contain solvents, such as white spirit, acetone or nail polish remover. These damage the surface.
